چکیده

In novel market-oriented resource sharing models resource consumers pay for the resource usage and expect that non-functional requirements for the application execution, termed as Quality of Service (QoS), are satisfied. QoS is negotiated between two parties following the specific negotiation protocols and is recorded using Service Level Agreements (SLAs) standard. However, most of the existing work assumes that the communication partners know about the SLA negotiation protocols and about the SLA templates before entering the negotiation. However, this is a contradictory assumption, if we consider computational Grids and novel commercially oriented Computing Clouds where consumers and providers meet each other dynamically and on demand. In this paper we present novel meta-negotiation and SLA-mapping solutions for Grid workflows bridging the gap between current QoS models and Grid workflows, one of the most successful Grid programming paradigms. We illustrate the open research issues with a real world case study. Thereafter, we present document models for the specification of meta-negotiations and SLA-mappings. We discuss the architecture for the management of meta-negotiations and SLA-mappings as well as integration of the architecture into a Grid workflow management framework. Grid Service Level Agreements Combining Resource Reservation and Predictive Run-time Adaptation

Resource reservation and performance prediction of execution run-times are key components in delivering timely application services for decision support systems. The provision of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and components to manage tasks such as resource negotiation, monitoring and policing are needed to help meet this requirement. This paper presents an SLA management architecture for use i...

An interoperable and self-adaptive approach for SLA-based service virtualization in heterogeneous Cloud environments

Cloud computing is a newly emerged computing infrastructure that builds on the latest achievements of diverse research areas, such as Grid computing, Service-oriented computing, business process management and virtualization. An important characteristic of Cloud-based services is the provision of non-functional guarantees in the form of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), such as guarantees on exe...

A Multi-agent Infrastructure and a Service Level Agreement Negotiation Protocol for Robust Scheduling in Grid Computing

In this paper we propose a new infrastructure for efficient job scheduling on the Grid using multi-agent systems and a Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiation protocol based on the Contract Net Protocol. The agent-based Grid scheduling system involves user agents, local scheduler agents, and super scheduler agents. User agents submit jobs to Grid compute resources. Local scheduler agents sche...

Supporting SLA provisioning in grids by risk management processes

Grid technologies have reached a high level of development, however core shortcomings have been identified relating to security, trust, and dependability of the Grid which reduce its appeal to potential commercial adopters. Users require a job execution with a desired priority and quality. In order to stipulate such requirements, Service Level Agreements (SLA) can be negotiated. These are a pow...

A Multi-agent Infrastructure and a Service Level agreement Negotiation Protocol for Robust Scheduling in Grid Computing

In this paper we propose a new infrastructure for efficient job scheduling on the Grid using multiagent systems and a market-like Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiation protocol based on the well known Contract Net Protocol. The agent-based Grid scheduling system involves user agents, local scheduler agents, and super scheduler agents. User agents submit jobs to Grid Compute resources. Local...
